6.2.3.2 Managed Objects

NoCScontrol is not a monolithic software application. It is realised by agent systems which are using CORBA objects. In subsection [*], the architecture of the system was described. The system consists of services which are realised by agents. The agents can act as clients using services from other agents, or as servers providing services for other agents. It is clear that the agents will be managed objects, because they provide the whole management functionality. They will be affected by metapolicies, both as targets and as subjects.

Furthermore, several other objects are created on an agent or are instantiated such as Enforcement Objects, Policy Objects, Persistence Service, etc. An advantage of the chosen implementation is that each class of objects and even every object itself can be referenced in a common and standard way. Not only the agents, but also the objects created on the agents can act in the client as well as in the server role.

For this reason, NoCScontrol fulfils the requirements for using metapolicies regarding the availability of managed objects without any enhancements.
