    All, please review the project proposals. Groups will be formed Friday, June 9 and projects will be assigned accordingly (physical presence mandatory).
  • First interim exercise online.

The course "data science and ethics" (lecture and exercise) is part of the elite studies data science and not open to the public.

  • 19.05.17: Information security II
  • 26.05.17: Information security III & theoretical assignment
  • 01.06.17: Guest talk: Ethics in medical information - principles and technical approaches (case study during summer school)


  • 09.06.17 Theoretical assignment due, discussion & beginning of exercises (mini-projects)
    • Working in groups
    • One (practical) assignment per group
  • 23.06.17 Jour Fixe
  • 07.07.17 Jour Fixe
  • 21.07.17 projects due


  • 25.07.17, 9:00-12:00: Exam: presentations of results of mini-projects
  • 09:00-10:00: Browser Tracking
  • 10:00-11:00: The Netflix Prize
  • 11:00-12:00: Face Recognition and Anonymization
