3. Previous Work on Metapolicies

This chapter presents an overview of the understanding of metapolicies in the literature. Each section describes a metapolicy concept introduced by a different author or institution. As will be seen, each described metapolicy concept has a special area of interest. For this reason, they are described separately without introducing a common understanding. The chapter ends with a summary and a discussion of the presented concepts.
